🍰 The recipe

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Whisk 2 cups of flour with 1 tsp of salt and 1/2 cup of sugar. Melt 8 oz of butter and stir in 250 ml of milk. Bake for 35 minutes, then cool on a rack for 10 minutes before slicing into 8 pieces.

🛣️ The road trip

The cabin is 5 miles past the lake — about a 12 minute drive at 60 mph. We'll cruise the last 100 km at 100 km/h, and the tank holds 2 gallons more than we need. The trailhead sits 800 m above the valley floor.

🌤️ The weather (and the ambiguity demo)

Tomorrow hits 25 degrees under a clear sky — perfect hiking weather. The lake is 72°F at the surface. Our guide is 6'2" and swears the pass is only 3 km further. Pack 1 liter of water per person.

⌨️ Type your own

Ambiguous inputs get the confident-primary, honest-secondary treatment: bare "25 degrees" leads with the locale-smart guess big (Celsius outside the US, Fahrenheit inside it) and shows the alternative reading small underneath, labeled "or". "8 oz" leads with weight and offers fluid ounces as the safety net. The scanner never claims what it can't pin down — "5 in the morning" stays plain text.
